When
Open year-round (7 days a week); in winter the indoor lounge with a fireplace is used.

Getting around: get a Fethiye Kent Kart

Most municipal buses and dolmuşes in central Fethiye run on this card. It covers the Kayaköy, Ölüdeniz, Ovacık, Hisarönü, Çalış and Üzümlü lines, so one card gets you to almost every stop in the plan within the city area. It is cheaper than paying cash, and everyone uses the same card, with no tourist-local distinction.

Good to know: 7 things that make a Fethiye trip easier

  1. In January the sea is around 16-17°C. It isn't swimming season; beaches are quiet, but most sunbeds and cafés are closed.
  2. Cards may not work at small tradesmen's restaurants and neighbourhood markets, so always carry cash.
  3. Using the Kent Kart on city buses and dolmuşes is cheaper than cash; you can top up the card at the bus station or at supermarket checkouts.
  4. Tips are not included in the bill. Rounding up is fine at tradesmen's restaurants, and leaving 5-10% is considered polite at mid-range and upscale restaurants.
  5. Winter weather is cool and windy (10-15°C by day), so dress in layers; a jumper or coat is essential in the evenings.
  6. When visiting around historic hamams and mosques, wear plain clothing that covers shoulders and knees.
  7. In winter some boat tours and canyons (such as Saklıkent) may be closed because of water levels or weather; confirm with the operator before booking.
