  2. In summer the city reaches 30-35°C, while Kazbegi is cooler at 15-20°C and Gergeti can be foggy. Tbilisoba is in October, and Rtveli (grape harvest) is in September and October in Kakheti.
  3. Turkish citizens enter with an ID card (1 year visa-free). Carry cash in GEL (ATMs), though cards are widely accepted. Khinkali costs 1 GEL each, khachapuri 12-18 GEL, a glass of wine 8 GEL and a bathhouse 50-100 GEL; tip 10%.
  4. Call ahead to book a private bathhouse room (Chreli Abano). For Gergeti, haggle for a 4x4 in town. Sighnaghi is full at weekends.
  5. Expect a supra (feast) and a tamada (toastmaster). 'Gaumarjos' means cheers. Hold khinkali by the top, sip the broth and leave the top.
