- Use a contactless card on the MRT. The city is small, and a taxi (Grab) costs 10-20 SGD. The MRT to Changi takes 45 minutes.
- Return your tray at hawker centres (there are fines). Reserving a table with a tissue packet ('chope') is a local custom; a meal costs 5-8 SGD.
- Summer (June-September) is relatively dry at 32°C; afternoon downpours are possible.
- Chewing gum is banned, and littering and smoking are fined; supermarkets do not sell alcohol after 22:30.
- Universal Studios and Cloud Forest tickets are cheaper online; some museums close on Mondays.
- No tipping; a 10% service charge and 9% GST are added.
