How to get in
From the Datça-Marmaris road, turn into the village at the Emecik sign, pass the village square, then take the dirt track for about 1 km. The excavation site is not fenced and entry is free. You must go by your own car or taxi, as the dolmuş does not stop here.
Local tip
Be sure to see the cult cave to the north of the site; its entrance is hidden among the grass, so a torch will come in handy. If you ask villagers for the 'temple road' or 'Sarılıman', they will point you to the right path.
When
Accessible year-round from 08:00 to 19:00. In winter (January-February) the dirt track can be muddy, so waterproof shoes are recommended.
Contact
Yok — ziyaretçi merkezi ya da gişe yok; Emecik Mahalle Muhtarlığı'na sorulabilir, köy kahvesindekiler de yönü tarif eder.

Good to know: 7 things that make a Datça trip easier

  1. Small tradesmen's restaurants, village shops and tea gardens mostly prefer cash. Some places may not take cards, so carry cash in TL.
  2. The Datça peninsula is large and the bays are far apart. In winter, dolmuş (shared minibus) services become infrequent, so a rental car or taxi is the most practical way to get around.
  3. Tips of 5-10%, not included in the bill, are a common courtesy in restaurants.
  4. In January Datça is cool and windy, especially at Deveboynu Lighthouse, on the bay edges and at boat and shore spots. Dress in layers; a windproof jacket is essential.
  5. In winter most restaurants and guesthouses on the bays (Palamutbükü, Hayıtbükü, Ovabükü) are closed. Confirm the remote bay venues in the plan by phone before visiting.
  6. Datça is a very safe small district, and even walking alone at night is no problem. Still, keep an eye on your valuables.
  7. On village visits such as Emecik and Reşadiye, be respectful to locals and do not enter private gardens or farmland without permission.
