Good to know: 6 things that make a Da Nang trip easier

  1. Grab (moto/car) is cheap. Scooter 150,000/day (international licence needed). Hoi An is 45 minutes away, and the airport is within the city.
  2. June-August is dry at 33°C, the sea is calm and Cù Lao Chàm is open. Rain begins in September, and typhoons come in October-November.
  3. Vietnam e-visa is valid for 90 days (e-visa for Turkish citizens). Carry cash in VND (1 USD ≈ 25,000, ASSUMPTION), cards work at hotels.
  4. Bánh mì 25-30,000, mì quảng 40,000, restaurant 150-250,000, Ba Na 950,000, Hoi An ticket 120,000. No tipping, and bargain at markets.
  5. Be at Ba Na at the 08:00 opening (the Golden Bridge is empty) and Mỹ Sơn at 07:00. Visit Marble Mountains in the morning. Dragon Bridge show is on Saturdays and Sundays at 21:00.
  6. Try cao lầu (Hoi An), mì quảng, bánh xèo, salt coffee and egg coffee. Street food is safe at busy stalls.
