- Grab (taxi/moto) is cheap; red songthaew 30-60 THB; scooter 250 a day (licence needed). The airport is 15 minutes from the city.
- June to September is the rainy season: afternoon downpours, green rice terraces, a powerful Sticky Waterfall, fewer and cheaper tourists; Doi Inthanon is misty.
- TDAC digital arrival card; Turkish citizens get 60 days visa-free. Carry cash in THB; cards work in malls.
- Khao soi 50-70, street food 40-60, restaurants 150-250; elephant park 2,500, cooking class 1,200-1,500; tip by rounding up.
