Good to know: 6 things that make an Amsterdam trip easier

  3. Summer is 20-24°C with changeable weather, so bring a raincoat. Vondelpark, canal jetties and open boats; the Grachtenfestival takes place in August.
  4. Eat stroopwafel hot at the market, herring from the stand, and bitterballen in a brown café; coffee is 3.5 EUR, beer 5 EUR.
  5. A coffeeshop is not a cafe; photography is forbidden in the Red Light District. Round up the bill to tip.
