- Wiener Linien 24-hour pass 10 EUR, 7-day pass about 25 EUR (48/72-hour passes discontinued); CAT or S7 to the airport. The city is walkable; take a tram for a Ring tour or two.
- Schönbrunn and Belvedere have timed online tickets; opera standing tickets are sold at the box office 80 minutes before (opera closed in summer).
- Christmas markets in November and December (Rathaus, Schönbrunn, Spittelberg) and ball season in January and February; winter is 0-5°C and coffeehouses are at their best.
- Schnitzel 20-25 EUR (Figlmüller); in a coffeehouse a Melange is 5 EUR and cake 6 EUR; Sturm at a heuriger in autumn. Tip 5-10%.
- Shops are closed on Sundays; museums are open.
- For the Wachau, use the ÖBB combination ticket; apricot blossom in April, wine harvest in September and October.
