Good to know: 6 things that make a Toronto trip easier
- Use a PRESTO or contactless card on the TTC. The UP Express to Pearson takes 25 minutes. For Niagara, take the GO train (direct in summer) or a tour.
- Summers are humid at 25-30°C, with islands, beaches and festivals (Caribana in August, TIFF in September). Daylight lasts until 21:00.
- CityPASS costs 130 CAD and covers 5 attractions. Museums cost 25-30 CAD, CN Tower 45 CAD. The 13% tax is not included in prices. Tip 18-20%.
- St. Lawrence Market is closed on Mondays. Kensington is pedestrian-only on Sundays.
- Poutine, peameal bacon sandwich, butter tart. The cuisine is multicultural (Chinatown, Little Italy, Greektown).
- The island ferry gets very busy in summer. Book timed tickets online.
